Good list, although putting Holyfield above Bowe is hard to do.

Yes Holyfield had a more illutrious career, but Bowe beat him twice & KO'd him when he was still relatively young at 33. It's a tough one to call.

It's a difficult one because Bowe did win 2 of their 3 encounters. My problem with Bowe is that of the other 9 fighters in the list he only fought Holyfield, whereas Evander himself managed to face 6 of the other guys, and beat 5.

He crushed Bruno - A man who had given lewis hell and beat McCall.

McCall was a Crackhead with one noteable victory in the 90's.

Foreman and tyson is debatable, and Moorer as well i guess.

But Tyson wins over Ruddock, Tillman and Bruno keep him above McCall.

Fair dinkum, not sure the win over Tillman means anything but he did indeed beat a peak Ruddock and Bruno.

Based on performances in the 90s or performances to date of heavies that fought in the 90s, or were champs or contenders in the 90s?

Based on performances in the 90s I'm not so sure, but my ratings for the fighters of that generation:

I think the Mike Tyson of 1991 would have beaten all 3 guys, although I don't think he would have KO'ed Big George Foreman. But looking at the decade as a whole Foreman and Moorer proabbly achieved more and would rank higher in a "league" system.

1) Evander Holyfield- Has the best wins and even at 39 was beating top teners (Ruiz, Rahman)

2) Lennox Lewis

3) Riddick Bowe-Some decent wins against Hide, Ferguson (its not his fault Jesse embarassed Mercer to get that title shot), and Donald but he's here primarily for that first Holyfield fight.

4) Mike Tyson-Sorry, wins over Ruddock and Bruno don't get him past the above 3 . . no way. Plus he got whupped by Holyfield, and basically ducked the entire top 10 from 1997-2000.

5) Michael Moorer

6) George Foreman

7) Ray Mercer-Has gotten a little over-rated. Remember this guy lost to Ferguson, Wilson, and schooled by an old Holmes. Tough as nails with good power but very one dimensional and awful stamina.

8) Larry Holmes-Stringed together a good resume for awhile in the early-mid 90s

ok blockbuster hate to bust your bubble about tyson ko foreman but you know how many boxers ever put foreman on the mat? 2 ali & jimmy young. couldve tyson stayed in the ring with george for 12 rounds i seriously doubt it.

10) Morrison / Mercer - hard to seperate - Morrison has the better wins, but Mercer beat Morrison, both had shock losses.

I hate to bust your bubble man but it is my opinion tyson has just as much power as foreman if not more which he probably does. Foreman also doesnt have the best stamina early and if ur talking about a 45 year old foreman WHICH I HOPE UR NOT, he would get knocked out by tyson. He left himself open then and the 95 tyson at 28, still had a lot of power and would have flattened and old foreman. Holyfield hit foreman so many times and foreman nearly went down. if tyson hit him that many times hed be out.

And tyson did beat bonecrusher and tucker over 12 rounds which proves in his prime he can go 12 rounds.
