Question about Amateur Boxing

Post by barry »

I was wondering about decisions in amateur boxing. I know that I have seen several South America records that lists draws, but I was wondering if there has ever been any ND and Draw decisions in North America. I don't recall ever seeing any, so could someone enlighten me on the topic.

As I emailed you earlier, Barry - there are no "ND" (no decision) or draws in U.S. boxing. A draw can be agreed upon by the involved parties in an AIBA dual meet. There is never a "ND" or no contest except as an act of God, i.e., electricity goes out. In other words, an act beyond the control of humans. There are probably some places in the world where a "no decision" is allowed, but that is not generally the rule of thumb.
