Is the quality of amateur boxing at the commonwealth games still worthy of its status ?
I think its lagging far behind the olympics (as are the track events).
Do other people think it should be scrapped (I think they scrapped wrestling in 1998 but repreived it in 2002).
The Heavyweight division sometimes has as few as four entrants !

No way, it's the only chance for the home nations to win some medals!
Seriously though, with the level so high now in both World and particularly European competition the Commonwealths can only serve to improve our homegrown talent in the UK, however meagre that might be. Success at the Commonwealths can be a pre-cursor for better things - both Lennox and Audley took Commonwealth golds.
