Johnson probably isn't a bad fighter, that's a decent stoppage win over Zoff who is still tough as old boots.

I notice he holds a stoppage win over then-unbeaten Sharmba Mitchell too. And it's only decent guys who have beaten him - Jauregui is absolutely hard as nails, Nazarov was a very good champion and obviously M.A Gonzalez was quality in his peak lightweight days.

Johnson is a good fighter. Has an excellent jab and good power. Unfortunately as you have mentioned he came up against some top champions. Inactivity hasn't helped him any either.

Fair play to him... he's been on the scene for years. Amazing. Lost to Miguel Angel Gonzalez after putting up a really good showing and seemed another of these 'good but not quite good enough guys' but then again, came up against another veteran on the downslope. Still, good for him, but I don't envisage a Glen Johnson-type renaissance here. Still, lightweight's not exactly bulging with talent at the moment is it?

Not sarcy, had a long day, put my paper to bed today and am knacked. haven't followed it as much as you obviously.

A 33-year-old long in the tooth fight fan. Like a fighter who's had one too many and doesn't take a shot quite as good as he used to, I don't soak up the names like I used to.

But what I mean is there's no bunch of three or four fighters on the level of say, Floyd Mayweather kind of fighter who's dominating and holding the belts. I mean, he got an IBF shot against Zoff, who's tough but no doubt seen better days.

I mean, he may even have a shot against a couple of the guys at the bottom of that list but he's not going to set the world on fire.

I mean Corrales, could be in worse shape than Johnson after the stick he took in his last fight. Don't think he'll ever be the same.

I was watching some of the Floyd v Gatti press coverage at 15 Rounds.com and Bob Arum said Johnson might be Morales next opponant. Morales going for a fourth world title.

If Morales does that, I think he'll then fight the winner of the Corrales v Castillo winner which Arum also said will be happening.
