Now everyone says if that fight were today it would have been stopped and charles would have won. BUT WAIT, charles split open marcianos nose with an ELBOW not a punch. Now I am wondering because i am not entirely sure, if it were todays rulks, wouldnt an accident elbow that stops the fight go to the scorecards after 4 rounds??/ rather than grant charles a Tko victory. He didnt hit him with a clean punch. so in that case we go to the score cards after 8 rounds and Marciano knocked charles down in the 2nd and totally outslugged and outfought him and was winning basically every round. SO THAT MEANS BY TODAYS RULES, WOULDNT MARCIANO WIN A TECHNICAL DECISION?????

your exactly right...did ezzard through it intentionally? or was it accidental..cause i dont know much of ezzad was he a dirty fighter?

NO it was definitely accidental. CHarles was not a dirty fighter at all. Charles just missed with a punch and landeda sharp elbow at the most vulnerable spot on the nose and marcianos nose exploded. but it was defintely accidental, charles missed with a punch and hit with the elbow in MY OPINION.

...after they fought, gus lesnevich said charles was the cleanest fighter he ever fought.

...i say punch....you say elbow...either way it sure was nasty looking...

I really think it was the end for Ez. He got himself into great shape for their first fight and gave Marciano hell. Marciano's style meant he really ruined a lot of fighters and Ez was old anyway by that point. i don't think he ever really recovered.

From what I've read Charles got himself into top shape for their first fight and you can see he gave Marciano hell. But Ez was in with a naturally bigger man who was in his prime. I don't like the second fight. It's hard to see great men not able to do what they used to.

Jaclem, no punch could do what it did to marcianos nose. It had to be an elbow. I have never seen another incident like this or a punch doing that much damage and im not talking power punch blow damage. im talking splitting open a nose damage. you only get that from a sharp elbow.
