Top 10 domestic heavies

Post by Hesketh Vampire »

What a dire subject this really is, but to relieve some boredom momentarily I had a little think and came up with this motley bunch. This is based on achievement first, then potential second so go easy on me Audley fans. I've included Roman Greenberg because he is based in the UK and fights on the domestic circuit.

01. Matt Skelton
02. Michael Sprott
03. Danny Williams
04. Audley Harrison
05. Roman Greenberg
06. Scott Gammer
07. Mark Krence
08. Wayne Llewelyn
09. Keith Long
10. John McDermott

Not a bad list, depends on what you consider Greenberg and McBride.

I think Long for his win over Holden is a little bit harshly dealt with though.

I'd have him above Krence.

Greenberg is a little high also.

Argghh. Trying to avoid war and peace length explanations here, but on achievement I'd go:

1) Skelton. A Lonsdale for keeps (give or take another defence against Danny Klump or Gammer) within 3 years, off the back of no amateur experience and having the talent of a dead armless blind man isn't bad going.
2) Sprott. Beating up Koc in his own bedroom was one big achievement.
3) Williams. I actually wanted to put Audrey here, because (this may seem harsh) what has Danny done? Yes, he's made a number of good defences against Long etc. etc. but if we take this over just the past couple of years, Williams has lost to Sprott, and been pretty much mauled by Klitchko and Sam. If we're being really nasty, we can also say that Tyson was washed up (or dodgy knee, of course Mike, of course) Add in the mental fragility and the 'growing' fondness for KFC, and it doesn't look good
4) Ordinary. C'mon man, #22 WBC, #2 IBU, most complex combo of the century to finish off Davis. 8) Life is good. All aboard the A-Force express, third-next stop a top 20 opponent.
5) Gammer
6) Llwelyn
7) Monkey Wrench
8) Steeds
9) McDermott
10) Long

Thats as off July 11th.

I think Skelton will move to one and Williams down to 3 based on the pull out. With Sprott at 2.

Don't include Greenberg.
