We all know why Ali didn't go to fight in Vietnam.
But how the hell did Frazier get out of it?
How did he avoid registering? Or did he?
I know he had hearing problems. Was he 4F for his hearing?
I've been asking around, yet no definitive answer has been given.
Anyone know for sure?
Joe Frazier Vietnam Question
True. I recently read Frazier's bio and he writes in it that he wasn't called up because he had a wife and children to support. Ali didn't have any kids when he got his draft notice.
Frazier went on to say that he would have gone to Vietnam without asking any questions if he got called up, and spends a lot of pages badmouthing Ali throughout the book "Smokin' Joe". At first I thought it was interesting to hear Frazier speak of how he felt about Ali's taunting, but it got tiresome after a few pages. Outside of that, "Smokin' Joe" is a recommended read. I was left with a different impression of the man than I had got through the media and other stories of him.

The same question might be asked of George Foreman.
Re: George Foreman?
Just a guess but maybe it was becausehe was in that 'Jobs Corps' organisation? Also Foreman has a few children maybe he also had a kid in the late 60's early 70's??tagjohnson wrote:The same question might be asked of George Foreman.
