McBride sells his soul

Post by jomothepure »

As expected, a contract between McBride and Don King promotions is just about fixed. 3 year contract, which funnily enough includes a fight with Ruiz for the WBA. I mean, it's not as if he hasn't earned it

Bloody ridiculous, how come you get a title shot just by signing up with someone? Beating a shell like Tyson shouldn't mean you can fight for a title  Anyway, i don't know why he has signed up for three years, McBride is awful from what i have seen and will get banged out by the first decent operator he fights. Ruiz will stop him within 4 IMO.

Steve, I take your point but Ruiz couldn't stop Bonnie Langford in four.

Same joke like Williams was/is. Ruiz has to fight the winner of Valuev/Donald next. Maybe the Criminal thinks that Ruiz will win.....

Totally true. Nothing against McBride. He'd need his head checked if he didn't accept the biggest gift of his career for standing near Tyson for 15 minutes. It's boxing in general that's being fucked when Don King can pluck a journeyman out of nowhere and put him in a title fight, all for $$$.

As a citizen of Massachusetts, United States of America, I apologize if these two fellow Massachusetts fighters ever square off in the ring.

Ok so maybe four was pushing it a bit, but McBride is so terrible and Ruiz really isn't as bad as people make out. So he is ugly and his style is horrible but he always finds a way to win and i think he would deal with a guy who got beaten by some of the guys McBride has.

And DaVarryl Williamson punched fkking holes in him until he couldn't breath and quit.

But John Ruiz wont kock him out with a jab and a hug.

Louis Monaco knocked him out too I think.

McBride absolutely sucks, and Ruiz will clean his clock. Ruiz managed to knock out Oquendo who is a damn sight better than McBride.

Ruiz TKO 8.

Much as we criticise the guy I don't really see that signing for Don King is 'selling out'. That's a very naive view.

Totally. He's going to make some money now I dont begrudge him that.

But I'm willing to bet his 3 year deal with King has some sort of clause where King will drop him if/when he doesn't win against Ruiz. Or pays him peanuts after a loss. McBride probably thinks he's a top heavyweight after beating Tyson, as did Danny Williams and we all saw what a fat shambles he was in world class.

Exactly Nickd, the 3 year deal has to include certain stipulations as i cannot exactly see McBride beating Ruiz and cleaning out the division, as soon as McBride is found out for what he is King will drop him like a lead weight!

He'd be mad not to take it though, I'm willing to bet a fight with Ruiz will give him his career best purse.

Ruiz and McBride both suck. Ruiz hugs and holds, and McBride did the same with Tyson to win. Toe to toe, Tyson would clock both of these chumps... but Tyson can't ever get a fair fight anymore.... thus he should screw boxing and retire.

Tyson can't get a fair fight? He's a shot former shell of himself that's why he can't win fights anymore, it's nothing to do with getting a fair one!

I would have too!! I would have broken both his arms, then gone after the referee's arms, and then jumped into the stands to break both the commentators arms, then jump thru the tv screen and break both your arms and legs!!

Fenech pulled him out, because he knew that Tyson had no stamina & would have got KO'd in the 7th.

He spared Tyson the embarrassment of being KO'd by a bigger bum than himself!!!!! :o

yeah tyson was weakening and being picked off in that 6th rd. perhaps fenech should have give him a bit longer, but history has told us tyson is fucked when he's losing.
