Prime Chavez vs De la hoya

who would it win at 130, 135, and 140 lbs considering if Chavez would have fought him during his prime of around 15 years.

Chavez would have knocked him out. Easy at 130, 135, and still easy at 140.

There is no question bout that. a PRIME Chavez vs a PRIME DLH is NO CONTEST!!! Chavez by KO in any round.

I agree he'd win against De La Hoya in his prime, but by KO.. i'd say it's a possibility however, we have to keep in mind De La Hoya has only been KO'd once and that was by a body shot. Of course Chavez has one of the best body attacks but I don't know if he'd KO De La Hoya. Chavez wins by Unanimous decision and possibly KO but most likely unanimous decision. Unless of course you guys think Trinidad and Vargas' power isn't comparable to a prime Chavez.

You might want to factor in that Taylor's style is a potential Chavez beater. Does DLH fall that short of what Taylor brought? I'm just asking here. I don't have the answer. I'm inclined to think it is closer than the assumption that everyone wants to jump to is all.

i wouldnt say chavez KOs oscar. oscar was a tough fighter at lightweight and welterweight and was a lot better than most of chavez's opponents in his defenses.

id say chavez by unanimous decision cause the only time oscar was Kayoed was when he was at middlewewight facing a bigger man who was also a top 10 middleweight bernard hopkins. i think chavez would outslug him and oscar would have to move like he did with tito and he would win some rounds popping the jab and throwing fast flurries but chavez will wear him down and attack the body and outbox and outwork oscar. he would probably floor oscar during the bout.

id say 9-3 in rounds plus a knockdown or 117-110 chavez.

is it true that when Chavez was once sparring with DLH, JC knocked him out with a body punch? is a fun fact dont you guys think?

Guys, no way does Chavez KO Oscar. DLH had one of the best chins over the past 20 yrs. I see Oscar winning a wide decision against Julio at 140lbs. Taylor outboxed Julio comfortably for 11rds before he got beat and Oscar is a notch above Meldrick in almost all cases. Providing Oscar is conditioned, he wins over 12rds. Julio was a very slow starter and the notion that he'd KO Oscar is silly. Firstly, Julio didn't possess a real one punck KO. Most of his wins were thru relentless pressure, which resulted in a TKO. Oscars ring movement would give Chavez fits. Oscar's speed is amazing and Chavez was by no means a defensive wizard and finally, Oscar's chin wouldn't break in this one. I love Chavez big time, but Oscar's style beats him every time...fast, crisp punches, great ring generalship, great chin and good stamina...Julio will not get by that. He will be facing a flurry of punches at all times

I wouldn't be suprised if that happened either.. However a prime Chavez walks through De La Hoya's shots to land harder, cleaner, and more effective shots in my own opinion, but it is very possible that De La Hoya would outbox him.. However, Chavez could be a fairly good counter puncher at times too.

Not surprising. Hopkins KO'd a mature DLH with a body shot.

Now the fight between the 2. Chavez wins easliy. DLH could not take the heat.
