Bloody terrible. RIP.

"He passed away peacefully."

Dr Smith said Johnson had suffered "very severe injury to the brain" and that the boxer's family "very correctly took the decision to remove care (after) we had no further mode to improve his prognosis."

Johnson's promoter Lou DiBella led tributes to the fighter.

"What a wonderful guy this was," she said. "I've never met anybody so proud or so grateful to achieve his dream.

"If there's any solace to be taken in this, it's that he died doing what he loved. He died a champion."

I can only echo the words said on here, R.I.P.

The irony is though as DiBella said, only a couple of months ago he was on top of the world and 2005 was heading to be the pinnacle of his boxing career.

I've heard that the IBF will not charge Levander's sanctioning fees and will give Chavez' fees to assist in funding his (Levander's) children's education.

I feel for Chavez to at a time like this also, I think Saturday's fight though was a fitting tribute to both Boxers - Johnson was a very brave man and very decent boxer as the fight showed.

I really thought he would pull through....

He is at peace now..... arguably better than the tragic situtation Gerald McClellen is in...

RIP champ.....You were a warrior....

God bless his family.

Yes, when I heard about the degree of his injuries (His brain moving from one side of his head to the other) it is arguably better that he has gone as opposed to the life he was going to have had he pulled through.

Oh dear...

When this happens I find it very hard to reconcile my enjoyment watching two people pummelling one another for my entertainment with my image of myself as a civilised human being.
