Bartley Gorman was one of the most famous bare knuckle fighters in modern times - winning the title of Bareknuckle Champion of Great Britain and Ireland when he was 28 and reigning as king of the gypsies between 1972 and 1992.
He never fought Lenny McLean or Roy Shaw, two other famous fighters who fought on the cobbles. Though unlike McLean and Shaw, I think Gorman was purely bare knuckle and did not dabble in unlicensed gloved boxing. Maybe Im wrong.
Interested to know if anyone saw him fight or has seen footage? Opinions on him...?

I assume it's the same title - by the same authors...
I also read On the Cobbles: The Life of a Bare-knuckled Gypsy Warrior

Was a pretty good read - about Jimmy Stockin another gypsy bare knuckle fighter.
