bad news..UKs Number 1 MMA fighter is fighting for his life

Post by knockout »

Recieved some very bad news this morning but didnt want to start spreading it around, however it is now in london newspapers and on london radio stations so i thought i would clarify things

Lee Murray, one of the top MMA fighters in the world is fighting for his life tonight after an incident outside Funky Buddha last night saw him stabbed several times in the chest.

Murray from Woolwich SE London is a huge boxing fan and is respected by all his London peers in the the noble art...

Sadly because of his fighting ability most people are too cowardly to confront him man to man if the have an issue and it would appear they run off and get a blade..

My thoughts are with him and his family at this time and we are praying he will pull through...... He is a warrior.....

Matt - sad post.

Usual story I'm afraid of cowards thinking a knife can deal with a man harder than them.

Never met Lee, but from what I've heard he is one of the good guys (although of course with the usual rough edges)

fornicating hell.

I was thinking last night what happened to him because I follow MMA and saw him beat Jorge Rivera in the UFC before losing in a small hall MMA show here in Britain.

Get well soon Lee.

The Mirror have a piece on it on the website and in another article about how dangerous Cage fighting is they have Murray down as being top of the bill on the next show in December, good research

Keep your gloves up Lee, you can pull through! :box:

You know people dont need much of an excuse to stab someone these days..... I am sure i dont have to remind you about the poor guy in North London who got stabbed cause he told some thug he should stop throwing chips at his girlfriend.

The other guys stabbed and injured are Lees mates.....

Lee was stabbed numerous times to body and head with what was apparently a 12 inch carving knife....

Not only must the guy have had a knife, he must have had plenty of back up there too, because, to be honest, knife or not the average man has no chance with Murray..

the actual act of stabbing somone is well fucked up. Worse than hitting someone with somethign in imo.

A mate at work was in the area and said that the forensics had closed most the roads off that night so theres a good chance they will catch the perpertrators.

heres hoping for a swift recovery for all involved.

Stabbing someone is the lowest of the low, same as using a gun. It makes me laugh that some characters actually believe that having guns and knives make them 'hard'. Take the weapons away and they are just cowards of the lowest degree.

shouldnt be difficult to find who did it, but as usual, people will be scared to say anything for fear or reprecussion....

I am sure there is plenty of CCTV down there....

Police should take it seriously, in my view its a premeditated murder attempt... waiting for someone outside a club with a carving knife then stabbing them numerous times....

QUITE RIGHT LETS HOPE JUSTICE IS SEEN TO BE DONE.

for my mind there is a massive difference in pre meditated violence especially where knives and guns are involved.

and of course all recover with only a nasty scar at worst.

You've always got to wonder about people who actually go out with knives on their person. Picking up a bottle that's lying around is bad enough, but to actually have a weapon on you at all times speaks of the attitude that you really want to fornicate someone up.

It's cowardly shit, and I've seen enough of it in my time to hope the Police get hold of whichever arsehole is responsible for this.

Actually, let's hope it doesn't or, on it's past record, "justice" will have them out on the street with a letter of apology and £500 in their pocket by way of compensation for trauma caused by being arrested.

Hope the victim gets better soon

A bit of news from CageWarriors:

To let you guys know, Lee's condition has improved he seems to be responding to stimulus and trying to talk but he is still too weak.

They have removed the respirator and he is now breathing for himself.

Thanks for your continued well wishes.

Suley.

I assume you mean Tito Ortiz and not Trinidad? Felix did come over when Wilfredo Vasquez fought Naz.

Thats what i was getting at  . A mate of mine from work got stabbed with a broken bottle in a pub. The person got arrested and virtually got away scott free on account that he was a drug addict and said he didn't know what he was doing.

Glad to here he's improving.

There was an altercation between Murray and Tito outside china whites several years ago... a google search will bring up the stories...

Tito is a lot bigger than Lee and was also the number one in the world at the time....

Lets hope Lee gets to pay them a visit when he recovers :box:

Reminds me that this country is basically AMerica Jr, with our growing street violence, you get really poor people from poor countries that have allot better behaved and less needless violence than todays US and Brits. Its because they see themselves as a collective and the 80s turned us into a selfish individuals - "there is no such thing as society" - no there isn't :(

I agree there is no need to even carry a knife in public,
