between the two fastest heavys of the early 80's, who wins?

I posed this question a while in another thread. The most interesting thing about this is how they got through their respective careers without having to face each other. In addition to who would win, I would ask why did this not happen?

Probably, because of promoters, and the fact that around the time they were near title shots, they really didn't have to face each other.I know that Page always wanted to fight Dokes and Dokes himself mentioned in an interview in repsonse to it " If Greg wants to fight me , fine, if he doesn't, fine." In addition, once Page got his ranking dropped, it set up Dokes quite nicely for a title shot, and after he won the title, may have been less willing to fight Greg.

Dokes TKO late rounds - Dokes was a tougher SOB then given credit for - He had very fast hands, threw good combinations, rolled with punches and could / would fight dirter to set the tone -

The two fastest heavyweights of the early 80's ??? Right off the bat I'd say Larry Holmes, Carl "The Truth" Williams, James "Quick" Tillis and Pinklon Thomas got these guys beat for handspeed. An in shape Tim Witherspoon would give these guys a run for there money, not to mention Tony Tubbs who demonstrated superior handspeed in his title bout with Page. As for the result, I think Dokes get's off to the early lead, but Page rallies late for the stoppage around the 11th, if he's in shape and motivated.

Thomas had nice speed, but never threw the combos that Dokes and Page threw.
