I could easily see Tubbs outboxing Thomas, he had better boxing ability than just about any of that group of heavies, save Page and Tucker. But something tells me that Thomas ekes out a close split decision over Tubbs.

Thomas was a bit of an enigma - he was the only guy apart from Spinks who some boxing experts tipped to beat Tyson. He had alot of skills.

Tubbs was surprisingly good for his shape, but I think Thomas would have been to good - providing of course he hadn't been dabbling the prior to the bout.

I'd favour Tubbs speed and timing and movement over Thomas. Bowe couldn't outjab Tubbs, neither could Page. Don't think Thomas could either, and Tubbs had a lot more moves for a fairly stationary guy like Pinky who was a good strong jab and a good right and nothing else.

Tubbs bag of tricks kept him well in contention into the mid-90s and were it not for his bad habits God only knows what he could have achieved.

Tubbs UD15/12 for me.

Tony was lucky to have caught a disinterested Page.Otherwise, it may have been a different fight.
