We have a fight for Palzer in 1915, but the RRB has him being killed on 1914/07/26

Can anyone shed any light on this?

CBZ also lists a date of death of 7/26/1914.
Says he was shot by his father. They list his record as 10-3 (with several ND's) and obviously no reference to the 1915 Anderson fight.

However, CBZ's bio/record of "Agile" Andre Anderson does state that he beat Al Palzer by KO1 on 12/21/1915 in St. Paul, MN. One would hope he'd win given Palzer's condition (sorry, not funny). Back to square one.

Al Palzer was fatally shot by his drunken father during a domestic dispute on 26th July 1917 in Pelham, Minnesota.

Steve, What is your source for this info, as most books and sites have it as 1914?

On the Purdue University Home Sports Page. The chronological date of 8/10/1917 tells of an article about the recent death by a gun shot wound inflicted by his father. The same article referred to Luther MCarty's death a few years back. The reference is to a "national" news article. Does not give the paper it appeared in. The previous month on 7/7/1917 (chronological date) it tells of local Hammond fighter, Al Palzer, claims he can beat anyone and is advertising for a bout. Looks like he was alive at the time of that article.

The Ring did an article on Palzer in the October 2000 issue. It covers the shooting by his father in 1917.

Let's ask the descendants to dig up the body so an autopsy can be performed to establish the approximate time of death. It appears that an original date error was made of 1914 and sources have useing that date ever since.
To me the 1917 (7/26) date is correct. I have changed my records to note Boxrec is in error. Matt said it best, a little over a month ago, if another source has an error shouldn't we make the proper correction or continue repeating the same error (paraphrasing). After all. Dewey Wins!
