I am currently reading this book and am really enjoying it. I've only got to page 200, so I still have another 450 or so pages to go, but, damn, it's a good read!
Since staring it, I have become increasingly interested in the careers of Ken Overlin, Billy Soose, Holman Williams and Cocoa Kid. I expect this will apply for other fighters as well as I get further into the book.
Rosenfield has done thorough research in this solid peice of work. Excellent!

Book on Burley
The Moore book is good - I have to say that as I have a credit in it for some of the info I provided Mike on Charley Burley ;o)
My book on Burley (Charley Burley and the Black Murderers' Row - Tora Book Publishing, 2002), was written with the assistance of his family - and is the authorised biography of this great fighter.

The paperback is out in the next couple of months. I have revised the original and added new information about Burley's early career and professional relationship with his first manager. There is also more information on Booker (provided by his family also), Jack Chase, Holman Williams, Lloyd Marshall et al. There are also additional photos (many from the Burley family).
My book differs from Mr Rosenfeld's in a number of ways and I would say that if you wanted to get to know Charley Burley then my book is the one to get (it also contains fight reports etc). Of course, having both would provide you with as much information as you needed ;o)
I was fortunate enough to meet Charley and I remain good friends with his family. Their stories and memories about him are also included and provide a great insight into Burley the fighter and the man.

Thats interesting, how do you think Rosenfields book on Burley compares with Harry Ottys book on Burley?. I have the Otty book and was wondering if I should get the Rosenfeld book too!...

I highly recommend you to get the Rosenfield book too. Even if the Otty book is better, Rosenfield's is still excellent.
