What Happend to Stephen Smith

Post by josh fg »

Was watching a tape of an old boxing card with Audley Harrison and Stunning Steve Smith on the undercard. I remember he fought hatton and his dad interviened and he was disqualified (although loosing at this point anyway though loosing to hatton is no shame) soon after he lost again and retired anyone know what he is doing now, any chance of a come back he was an exciting fighter with a lot of heart. Memorable quote was (I broke my hand so I had to hit him low cos it hurt less)

Not sure what he is doing, was a part time model aswell so could be pursuing that aspect of it.

Could make an excellent addition to the Lightweights should he return. Obviously though something went a little wrong after the Hatton fight. I mean, before that and immediately after I still considered him the 4th best Light Welter and thought he would have beaten the current 4th best (Lynes - counting Magee as a light welter) easy. However, he lost to Bosworth, which was a bit of a shock to me.

Smith pre Hatton could challenge any one of the current lightweights.

Stevie lives in Hull these days and works as a personal trainer.

He is happy with his current situation and has no intentions of making a comeback.
