One fight i'm looking forward to inparticular this weekend is the Heavyweight dust up between Mark Krence and Carl Baker for the English title.
Both men stand a good chance of winning, in my personal opinion Baker could win if he is active enough in the first few rounds, (I went to watch his last fight against Luke Simpkin and e just nicked a one point decision, although Luke outworked in the the last stages of the fight). As in the Simpkin fight it was evivdent that although he is quite mobile for a big man he struggles somewhat carrying that bulk then again who would'nt!.
If Krence were to to win the fight I think his best option would be to try and tire Baker out and possibly win on points, I think that he isn't a big enough hitter to win via a stoppage.
i like krence...i just wish he could punch his weight...... he has problems with the weight of some men and it will be interesting to see how he copes with the behemoth Baker. carl is very scrappy and i think both men will hit and hold with baker making efforts to swipe away and lean on krencey...who ever gets knackered first will get stopped......im going for an 8th round stoppage for krencey but im biased. :P
I'm hoping that Baker will win it, because it might liven the scene up a bit, then he will have to vacate his masters title, with another title vacated ( Heavyweight, British Midland Area-also vacant) it makes for some exciting matches to be made allowing almost anyone a possible English/British title shot.
Both men fought Luke Simpkin ( I'm a big Luke fan, and biased too), Luke giving Krence a run for his money and Baker although he sparked Baker the first time, and I reckon he got a wrong decision the second time, so whatever the outcome I think it will be close.
