I see Valero is set for a bout in Paris this coming Monday the 5th of December. Anybody know anything about this venue (Bercy) or the identity of his opponent?

James, would be great if Max Boxing sent you across to cover this and try to get some interviews, I know Doug Fischer is dead keen on getting some coverage on him.

I'd go over myself to have a look if it had been at the weekend.

as I said in a previous post, I have a business meeting in Paris on Tuesday so am going to nip over to Paris the night before. Missus not happy as I am off to Vegas tomorrow to see Bhop and am only back on Monday...

I've had a break from the boxing stuff, but this is a possibility actually, never been to paris, but it's a bit short notice now I think...

If Asloum wins he has done it fairly quick. He had his first amateur fight december 2nd 1995 and won olympic gold and the european title so far, pretty good 10 years into a boxing career.

Parra retains his belt with the scores 119-108, 118-109 & 120-107. Parra is now my fighter of the year having defeated 3 top 10 guys on their hometurf in 2005.

In the first half of tonight's twinbill, unbeaten WBO flyweight champion Omar Narvaez (20-0-2) retained his title with an eleventh round stoppage of #10 ranked Bernard Inom (13-1). Narvaez (20-0-2) seemingly suffered an injury to his right hand in round five, but still managed to stop Inom with his good paw six round later. In the second title bout, unbeaten WBA flyweight champion Lorenzo Parra (27-0) dropped Olympic gold medalist Brahim Asloum (19-1) in round two with a right hook and went on to a lopsided 119-108, 118-109, 120-107 victory.

I've seen a few of his bouts and he really can punch about5 as good as I have seen at that weight, it's nothing hyped. I don't know if there are any of his bouts to download up at the boxing torrent sites, or not. He set a record with that knock out that had stood for 100 years!

Dougie Fischer from MaxBox has been cheerleading this fighter for 12 months or so, based mainly on what he has seen him do in the Wild Card gym and other gyms around LA.

Would love to see him myself - for longer then an opening round as well!

Yes been hearing about him for awhile - that is some record he's putting together - and it's not just bums he's been knocking flat. The guy he beat in Paris looked like he'd been picked to at least take him out of the first round.
And the win over Esteban Morales proves he's no mirage.

So what's the deal - banned in the USA only? Is he going to sign up in France maybe, and get a world title shot there?

Hope the Americans are being over cautious, and that motor bike crash (? ) hasn't left him an accident waiting to happen.

Could be it's a mistake, like the Pocket Rocket incident a few years back.

He is only banned in the US (and maybe Canada). There were 3 from Venezuela on the undercard so there probably isnt a deal between AB starts and Valero.
I could imagine that Valero could be a big star in Japan where he have already been shown on TV.
