Submitting bout confirmation. 8-1-1868 vs John Shanssey. Bout happened on 7-4-1869, near Cheyenne, Wyoming (railroad camp). Reference source "Inventing Wyatt Earp by Allan Barra" (can read on the internet). Said Earp acted as the bookie for the laborers and met the fighters before the bout. Does not specifically say he ref'd. John Shanssey never fought again as a result of the fight. No rounds given. Shanssey later became Mayor of Yuma, Arizona. (P.S. was sent by telegraph. Great-great grandpa had it in his records with a T, indicating telegraph. Was in his 1869 folder. No date. the entry before it was 7-2 and the one behind it was also 7-4.) Had the 1880 Sullivan-Donovan fight also (hadn't seen that one in any records before) Note on my records shows $500 with a question mark. Didn't Sullivan make a challenge?
First, I don't agree that bareknucle bouts should be entered here -- at least not as currently formatted.
Second, BK fights were wins or losses -- no such thing as a ko, since ALL bouts ended witht he other fighter unable/unwilling to continue.
Third -- the Sullivan-Donovan fight appears on the CBZ record.
Last -- re g-g-grandpa's records -- puh-leeze! It's bad enough when you make up crap about yourself -- but now you're dragging in poor old g-g-grandpa! Give it a rest.

(1) I agree about Bare-knuckle entries, except for cross-overs. Since they are in there shouldn't they be accurate? (2) BK fights were as you stated. Believe some did have prearranged distances. Like if you don't beat me in 4 rounds its a draw, etc. (3) I didn't see 2 Donovan-Sullivan fights at CBZ a couple of years back. Could have missed it. (4) I'll give it a rest. Just stick to the inquieries. (5) Is the Donovan info sufficient (book by Allen Barra)to warrant correction? (6) See the Sullivan correction has been made (referenced CBZ). (7)Did you know anybody at the Kefauver hearings in Kansas City?
