In a 4 round bout sanctioned by the NZNBF Daniella Smith beat pro debuter Renei Bevins.

Nasty incident in NZ
Fili Mailata in NZ’s middleweight title fight Daniel McKinnon on December 10 started bleeding profusely from the mouth. Ref stopped the fight immediately & ambulance was called, which rushed him to the hospital. Doctors had to break his jaw in order to insert numerous stitches inside his mouth.
Mailata took this fight at short notice eventhough he was suspended for 4 weeks by Gold Coast doctor Ron Findlay after his KO3 loss to Gavin Topp on Nov. 18
Regulating/governing body New Zealand National Boxing Federation claims it had no knowledge of the suspension.
