By Jason "J-Gon" Gonzalez
An April 8 superfight between WBC/WBA/IBF welterweight champion Zab Judah and WBC super lightweight champion Floyd Mayweather was inked today. According to Team Judah, no venue has been finalized and the bout, which will take place in Las Vegas. The Thomas & Mack Arena was mentioned as a possibility, due to the large seating capacity. spinks is a very good fighter and has been totally crucified for losing that rematch by boxing fans.
he's a good awkward lefty and difficult to fight. this makes him a very good fighter.

Spinks was the unified linear 147 champ, he beat Mayorga who beat Forest who beat Mosley who beat Delahoya. Watched the first Judah-Spinks fight - wonderful skill - fireworks at the end - I had them pretty much level - maybe Judah by a point - but you don't take the titles like that. Spinks and Judah are horribly underated now. Either would of beaten pretty much anyone at 140 including Zoo at the time of their fights imo.hitman_hatton1 wrote:stujones wrote:Yay, another Cory Spinks fan.hitman_hatton1 wrote: he's just a better version of judah isn't he. i rate judah quite highly meself and only think the very best beat him. unfortunately for zab, mayweather is the very best.![]()

I think Judah could cause the upset here -hes bigger, a southpaw, faster, hits harder than PBF and is more conservative than the Judah who fought Zoo - he tends to go for 1-2s rather than throw combos that would leave him open. The only flaw in Judah is his lack of concentration at times. This will be a great great fight - this decades Leonard-Hearns
And the winner to most likely fight DLH. The golden days are upon us..............except Judah will probably cock everything up now I've said this by losng to Baldowhathisface

Analyse it to death, but never discount the lucky shot in big fights like this.hitman_hatton1 wrote:i just don't c how judah wins it to be honest.floyd is better in all area's, apart from power, but if u look at there records even that's very similar.
mayweather is quicker and better defensively.i fancy mayweather to break judah down in about 9 or 10 rds.
I'm not doubting PBF's skills, but in the fight game all it takes is one lucky shot. There's always a chance and no-one is invincible.
Still, the gambling man would say PBF... right?

This really could be our generations version of Leonard v Hearns. Of course Judah isn't unbeaten as Hearns was.
In fact, it's probably more like Leonard v Benitez I guess.
Could be a corker this. I cannot discount the fact that nJudah is naturally more powerful and that mayweather just hasn't proven himself at the weight.
Judah fought a big Welter in Spinks, and knocked him bandy.

Thing is, Floyd is so damn confident I can see him taking it easy on Zab early on, showing off his skills and making Judah miss and look a fool....BUT.....Zab is a concusive hitter - he badly hurt the rock chinned Tszyu with a single shot, something hardly anyone else has managed.
And he has the type of speed and accuracy to slam one into Floyd's chin I reckon. Could be interesting....might put some cash on the upset here.

The key to this fight is speed, and I personally think Mayweather is faster - He is also more defensively aware than Judah.
Judah hits considerably harder, and is a very accomplished boxer - He'll need to be at his best towin this though.
Ego is going to play a big part in this fight, and that could well be the undoing of either fighter.
Good fight...Oh and Hatton beats them both :p

Watched Leonard-Benitez last week - not exactly exciting, fromwhat I saw Leonard 1 every round, leonard threw fast 1-2s to keep Benitez at bay, Benitez looked very ordinary.KO Atrist wrote:just what i was thinking, same as leonard - benitez, although judah is no wilfredo.jamesmcdonnell wrote:This really could be our generations version of Leonard v Hearns. IMO Judahs far more skilled and far faster than Benitez - but maybe Benitez was made to look ordinary by SRL. I think old time fighters are very overated as a whole.
Judah has a chance to prove everyone wrong in this fight. If he beat Zoo that night instead of tooling up he'd be around the P4P top2 now alongside PBF.
