Mo Nasir ?

How good is he, i've just read an article on him sounds interesting kid and has a decent chance at winning a medal at next years Commanwealth games having won the dress rehersal. Fought good competion by all accounts been in with the Cuban Yan Bhartelmy losing on points.

He is very very good,I would think he has a great chance of a gold at the commonwealths and if he turns pro a certain euro champ at the least.

He got a bronze at the Commanwealth games in the end. Saw one of his fights reminds me of Naseem Hamed. Hope he stays in the amatears till the Olympics in 2008.

Anyone know his amatear record ?

does anybody else find it slightly racist that amir khan came out publicly bigging this kid up?he claimed a bronze medal,was stopped by the english lad in the semi,english guys win 5 GOLD medals and khan comes out singing the praises of the young asian guy from wales?? seems strange.

He merely wants to encourage more British Asian people to take boxing as a serious career option. Thus he is encouraging and bigging up any decent British Asian boxing talent (....... not that there are many of them around).

He sees himself as a role model to the British Asian public and wants to encourage more of them to take up sport.

Maybe he has made a mistake by ignoring the achievement of Langley, but on the other hand he could well have big upped Langley aswell but this didn't get any media coverage ..........who knows ..........

Yeah,with hindsight,it is possible that of all the british guys khan commented on only nasir got any media coverage due to the asian connection.

I think Mo is from Yeman, like Naseem, so he's not asian but arabic. More of religous angle maybe?
