Is Skelton look past Williams?

Post by orltroy »

Boxrec has Skelton scheduled to fight Scott Gammer on the 29th of April for the British Heavyweight title. He very well could not be holding the title at that time. If he isn't focused against Williams then his hopes of fighting for a world title will never materialize.

Boxrec are more than likely being efficient and putting down Gammar because he is the mandatory to Skelton after Williams (i think!). I am sure should Williams prevail it will be easily changed, this is just Boxrec looking past Williams, i am certain Skelton isn't.

Yeah It's just terminology because he's the current champion. The EBU has stuff like "Vidoz to fight Krasniqi by..." even though he's still got to bash up koc before that

 Ok, I get the message. You just better hope the guy doesn't win a world title anytime soon, otherwise we're going to have a mouthful of Koc from the Germans

Win or lose Skelton will still be British champion wont he? Williams is not eligible for that title due to the ban imposed by the BBBofC.

I thought the fight was only for the Commonwealth title so in theory Skelton will still be the British Champ come April.

I thought I read FW is going to appeal against it, but then - can Williams vs Skelton be for the title anyway with Skelton needing to face his mandatory.

Reading the release on BBN, it sounds like FW has a show lined up for Skelton vs Williams - it is not Matt who is looking beyond Danny.

So much for the winner of this fight fighting Valuev next.
