We'll put Tyrell Biggs at Heayweight and forget about Super-Heavweight. That is, assuming that we are all in agreement that Tyrell Biggs could probably have beaten Henry Tillman at that point. The version of each boxer is the one that competed in the Olympics.

In particular, how would the 1984 Whitaker have fared against the 1976 Davis under amateur rules? How about the 1976 Leon Spinks against the 1984 Evander Holyfield in an amateur boxing match? Would Davis and/or Spinks have had a realistic chance at pulling off an upset?

I've seen some of the highlights of Leon Spinks at the 76' Olympics &
he would've flat out ko'd Evander!

And I saw Holyfoeld in LA...He was a much better fighter than Sixto Soria from Cuba who Spinks beat. Evander had the chin, stamina, speed, combos and punch to match Spinks punch for punch. The key is that Evander was technically the sounder fighter and wasn't as wild as Spinks. I see Holyfield winning decision or late KO....No doubt about it. Apart from Evander, I see the 76 team as better all round. Who's gonna' beat Leonard????..Nobody

Some tough ones to call here although overall I rate the 76 team higher as thay had much tougher opposition at the Olympics.

I know I may get some stick for picking Leon Spinks over Holyfield but as an Amateur Leon really was something very special and may well have been the USA's greatest ever amateur Light-Heavyweight.

Also Chuck Walker wasn't he also a trained dancer? He really did have very good footwork and balance. I understand prior to the 76 games he was talking about goung into acting. Did he achieve this?

Yeah, I see what you are saying, it's a tough one. The reason that I leaned towards Tate is because it seemed to be the big, strong punchers that gave Tate the most problems. But hey, it's a close fight in my opinion and not one I would put much money on, even if I was a betting man.

I would pick Hill to outbox Spinks, in a very close and technical fight. Michael never faced someone who could move and had the jab of Virgil Hill.
