Fantastic fight and great opportunity for Hatton to button PBF's mouth.

I have seen all of Mayweather's fights on tape and you know something? I reckon Hatton has what it takes to give him a beating. I think it would be fairly close and go the full route but I would stick my money on the Hitman.

Might have to start saving for a trip to Vegas!! :TU:

Hmm, this announcement just after Corrales pulling out of a rubbermatch with JL Castillo. Could we see the Hitman fighting Chico in May......

I HOPE SO :TU: :box:

Err, excuse me for being the voice of doom, but according to Ian's report, there is nothing concrete whatsoever....he doesn't even know who is next opponent is let alone a fight with mayweather.

It's encouraging to hear, but it's still nothing definite yet. Still, if they both keep talking about it, it'll have to happen at some point. You'd hope.

Looks like Gatti next then.

Its still all up in the air, but with Hatton yet to solidify his Stateside promotional alligances, and with so much positive press coming the Hitman's way from the American press, a statement of intent to fight Mayweather on the back of Judah's loss is encouraging enough for me! :D :TU:

Its a dream match up for me and so long as both can avoid any banana skins surely its a must-happen fight? :-?

Just a few thoughts.

Let's say Hatton-Mayweather is a "done deal," it would make sense It's a unification for the three belts.

But even a "done deal" is not going to be happening until July, August sometime.

That leaves a fight for each beforehand - we've heard what Ricky has planned. But surely Mayweather will have to fight Witter by then in order to keep hold of the belt? And how would Hatton be placed in terms of WBA mandatories and the like? Is is 6 or 9 months (or something completely different, or we find out he is super champ, or...)

One idea (but the way Hatton was talking he probablywon't be moving up this year anyway...) Mayweather can't be arsed fighting Witter, so "moves up" to fight Baldomir (perhaps just for the WBC title) or Judah regardless of the previous result (why no talk of a Judah-Baldomir rematch BTW?) Hatton is also getting jip from Warren, M'Baye and the likes, so also moves up, to fight whoever has the remaining titles (if they're fragmented) or simply PBF if he has them all by this time
