Will PBF have to vacate ???

Post by Foggy »

So if PBF fights Judah will he have to vactae his WBC Light Welter belt before he faces Judah for the IBF Welter belt, or will he be allowed to keep the WBC belt until he fights Judah & see what the outcome is. If they let him keep the WBC belt till he fights Judah will he be able to keep both belts if he beats Judah. Or will the WBC have an interim contest between the 2 top contenders & then if PBF loses to Floyd he has to fight the interim champ ????

To many options here

Any input ???

Hmm cannot remember the regulations. I think that you can retain the lower weight belt even if you lose. If you win, then you cannot hold both titles and i believe you have the choice of which one you vacate.

When ?Jones Jr beat Ruiz, did he retain the heavyweight belt, or dump the LH belts, or did he have to get rid of them?

Jones vacated the light-heavy belts after winning the heavy (WBA?), meaning Tarver was able to box for and win a couple of Jones' old belts

Why vacate them AFTER the event though, seeing as he never seemed to intend to defend the heavyweight title belt?

I think he vacated them after so that if he lost to Ruiz he could return to LH with his belts intact
