He beat home favourite, Alexander Martinsen, 48-43 on a countback after the 81kg final finished all square at 20-20 on points. It followed a convincing win for the Scot against Australian, Ben McEachran, in the semi-finals.
Scotland had more boxers in the finals than any other country in the multi-nation tournament. Craig McEwan also beat an Australian in the semis after winning his quarter final bout, but lost to Mohamed Hikal of Egypt in the 75kg final. Also bringing home a silver medal is Kris Carslaw who lost to Estonian, Artur Akavov, in the 69kg category.
Mark Hastie and David Hanna will return with bronze medals after going out at the semi-final stages.
