Hmm no doubt Marciano wins this but it could be interesting. I think Tex would actually be standing at the end. I'm not sure there would be much of Cobb's skull still attached at fights end.

That's where Cobb would be staying for several weeks after this fight.

Cobb had one hell of a chin. He wouldn't go down easy. Marciano would be whacking him any place he could find, beating him up over the course of a few rounds. I mean really swinging and whacking hard. 'Cause that's what Marciano did, that's what he was most comfortable doing, swinging away with all his might and beating the shit out of people. Cobb would be the perfect opponent. It would be a bit like Marciano-Savold. Savold's nose was broken, he had a gash over his eye, his lips were bruised and split, his face a bloody mask, and his body was covered in welts and bruises. Cobb had a better chin, and would last longer, only to take even worse punishment.

Cobb as much as I love the guy...I think would get the holy hell beaten out of him...and it be over inside of 5 rounds. He would be broken.

Marciano would do to Cobb what Holmes did to him and more. If Cobb ever stepped into a ring with Marciano, it would most likely be the last time he stepped into one as a fighter.

Has anybody seen a tape of the last round or two of
Rocky Marciano's bout with Don Cockell? Maricano
was simply throwing punch after punch, giving
Cockell a terrible beating. Randy "Tex" Cobb
would take the same type of punishment as
Cockell if he fought Maricano.

Many fighters are given credit for havin a good chin ,when its ALSO a matter of having a deceptively good defense to go along with it. Guys like Basilio and Lamotta were like this. They were not as easy to hit square on the chin as it may have appeared. They rolled with alotta punches and caught some on the shoulders. Cobb was not this way. His defense consisted of a good chin and thats it. Thats not the defense you want goin into a fight with Rocky. Anyway, Tex was tougher than a nickel steak so his hospital visit would probably be only a stop to the Emergency room rather then an extended stay.
