just joined a gym and need to get a pair of gloves this week. 1 lad I train with says get a pair of Greenhills, the other lad says Twins (muay thai) are what I need, anyone got any experience with these gloves or can recommend a good pair for a beginner?
cheers.

Protec make excellent gloves and I would get the ones with wrist support. To be honest with bag gloves you will smash the shit out of them so whatever make you get make sure they feel sturdy and feel like they wont rip around the thumb

When I first started boxing all the pro`s would cut the thumbs off theirs, can`t honestly say if it made the hands any cooler..but the habit has stuck since
Sounds a good idea to me, obviously assuming you wrap your hands properly. Not sure if it will make your hands cooler, but the thumbs on bag gloves serve no real purpose as they have no padding anyway. I just always used to find it was the first place on the glove that would start to go.tonyevs wrote:First thing I do is cut the thumbs off them..anybody else do this?J-C wrote: make you get make sure they feel sturdy and feel like they wont rip around the thumb
