Apparently, we could have been looking at Hatton-Torres in May, a fairly entertaining fight, you would have thought. But the IBF aren't having it:

Fair enough, you may say, they're not going change their rankings to suit the interests of others (after all, what self-respecting sanctioning body would do that? Ahem.)

But if they're doing that, can't they tell Rabah to fornicate off as well?

Seems a bit suspect this fight academy press release.
Why would they be chasing a fight with a dangerous banger like Torres?

Doesn't make sense really: big risk for litte reward. And sounds a bit like they're making excuses in advance for the soft match about to be announced next week.

If the guy has to be IBF ranked ( like Witter or Harris ) why were they chasing Gatti?

Torres is a banger (Hatton's got a great chin) , he's suspect to body punches (Hatton's a ferocious body pucnher) and has suspect stamina (Hatton great stamina and would jump on a fighter starting to fade) .

This combined with Torres' good showing against Cotto makes him an opponent Fight Academy would love to have .
