The stoppage was maybe a little early but it was far from controversial , and if it had happened in this country it would certainly have been called a good stoppage if it was in favour of a prospect.
I noticed Rob McCracken had his arms around Howard as the ref stopped him, a sure sign he felt his boxer needed protecting, and I don’t know if its McCracken’s style or not but he did not protest to the ref from what I saw.
It was a close fight, and if let to go on I think it was well within the ability of either of them to have got a full 10 count with a stoppage within the next rnd or two.
I have seen little bits of Teddy Atlas commentating, but last night he really was excellent, the pre fight analysis and the on going analysis
Everything thing was brilliantly observed by him,
when I watch boxing with the wife I mention things she does not pick up on in the fight, but last night I knew how my wife felt because Atlas picked up on things that I overlooked.
When he talked to Audley Harrison
And when Teddy asked Harrison his opinion on Eastman’s tactics it was clear Audley was as bewildered about them as his own fight tactics, but Atlas covered for him. 8)
Why can’t we have somebody as good as Teddy Atlas over here, he looks like a boxer, talks like a boxer and knows plenty more than most boxers…instead we have Duke McKenzie and John Rawlins.
