Perhaps I'm mistaken, but I distinctly remember that the coverage in THE RING of this July of '78 meeting for the US Lightheavyweight Title called it as a 15 round bout. I'm about 99.9% certain of it.
Unfortunately my collection of RING magazines is in storage at the moment, so I'm unable to double check that particular issue's report from ringside & listing of the result. But, I can even picture the story's headline quoting it as a 15 round split nod for Lopez.
Can anyone out there help me clear this up?
