Spare a thought for two of the greatest ever.
It appears they died on the same date as each other, gawd bless 'em.
April 12th-Today
1989 Sugar Ray Robinson [Walker Smith Jr] world welterweight champion (1946-51)/5-time middleweight champion, dies of Alzheimers at 67
1981 Joe Louis [Brown bomber] US heavyweight champion (1937-49), dies at 66
Sugar Ray and Joe Louis
They certainly were 2 of the very best
I was living in the UK in '89 when Robinson died and at thought it would have made for more news than it did. I know he developed Alzheimers and that was a real shame
Joe died of natural causes but there was a bit of a cloud hanging over him for quite a few years, with regards to his mental stability (ie - there may have been some undiagnosed problems there)
