3. Tommy Farr
4. Frank Bruno

Why have you listed Stewart who never fought in the UK but not listed Lennox Lewis who did many times and who also held the British Heavyweight Title?

As far as I know, Stewart was born in Birmingham in the UK. Stewart was a pretty good fighter who in my opinion deserved the win against Big George and gave Moorer a very good fight if I remember correctly.

As for Lewis, he doesnt deserve to be listed with names like Bugner, Cooper and Bruno.

Why? He even beat Bruno although after a tough stuggle, but beat him never the less.

Alex Stewart was born in the UK I think he left whilst a very young child under 10 maybe?

So he never help a BBBofC license so I cant see how he can be in this list, with respect.

I suppose the Greatest ever heavyweight (though I do rather detest him) is Lennox Lewis.

1. Lennox Lewis

2. Henry Cooper

3. Frank Bruno

I'm not gonna go any further, I'll wait and see how far Danny Williams and Matt Skelton progress. And hopefull see Harrison make a fool of himself tonight!!!

I dont class Lewis British.

He flew the flag of convenience. As soon as his career was over he's pissed of to Jamiaca.

Lewis is Canadian.

I would say based on era and competition...

Tommy Farr
Bruce Woodcock - too often "underated & overlooked" ( could have been Britains Ace )
Bugner/Cooper (?)
Don Cockell ( a great L-HW)
Bruno
Bygraves
Erskine

open to a few others ie: Ken Shaw for example...
the others I don't think are the same World class performers, although there's bound to be a few more I don't know about or can't think of!

Lewis isn't British... I agree KO

1. Joe Bugner
2. Don Cockell
3. Brian London
4. Joe Erskin
5. Tommy Farr
6. Danny Williams
7. Danny Mcalindan
8. Jack Bodell
9. Joe Bygraves
10. Ol Glass Jaw Cooper (the man who couldnt punch his way out of a paper bag)   :box: :box:

Cant include lewis because he fought for canada, con man.

A shamefull list to be fair, but to be honest they all would of been able to put marciano on his ass, but come to think of it anone could.
And if you dont agree Tiger is coming out with his2 fisted action.

Lewis was canadian,

Good call Brock, see I forgot about Johnny Williams

I wish I knew how to post pics, I've got a picture of me raising Johnny Williams' hand 2 years ago in a Nursing home in Rugby. It was a great interview with Johnny, and he remembered alot about his fighting days and he commented on Bert and Mac.

His comments were simply "good fighter" or "outstanding" in the case of Bert and McAvoy, with regard to Cockell, he said "I fought him and he beat me twice, he should have been a world champion".

Keep in mind that was the general consensus about Cockell from those days and he was probably referring to Cockell the L-HW as the first two meetings were earlier in both their careers.

I had Gilroy's scrapbook with me, with over 300 reports, pics, ratings and the like and Johnny was flipping through the pages smiling and commenting about "good fighter", "outstanding" or I fought him or we shared a bill together; that kind of thing!

It was a great day!

Take no notice of RazorKO, he is deluded.

As for people saying Lewis not in top 10? WTF?

Lewis was the greatest British boxer without doubt.

He was born in Britain, won the British title. (bit of a giveaway that isnt it)

How can he not be British? He moved to Canada when he was 12.

Yes he represented Canada in the Olympics, but he was also holding the British flag. Lewis is British. :TU:

Well Lewis beat Bruno by using an illegal tactic...he held down Bruno's head and uppercuted him with his right, the same tactic he used on Michael Grant and he should of been DQ'ed from both fights. Frank also in my opinion won every round prior to the stoppage.

Bugner and Cooper would both beat Lewis and rather easily.

Well it was the left hook that stunned Bruno, but Lewis after missing widly with some more punches resorted to holding down the opponent and uppercutting him as he sure couldnt miss if he did that move. But yet Bruno STILL did not fall, that also tells us that Lewis's power is also vastly overated.

Razor you know f**k all. You always make ludicrous remarks and then when people state the truth you come out with even more crap. Watch the fight you muppet. I'll download it for you if you want. Lewis bash's the s**t out of Bruno and keeps looking at the ref to stop it.

I don't know who is worse....You, Caulk or Tigerpomfret! Complete and utter w**kers who know f**k all aout boxing.

Ruddock underrated? You really are sad!

you leave joe alone,he blasted cooper to pieces, then became a journeyman ,fighting allover, unlike the kept in wraps cooper, dodged every big hitter you could think of throughout his intire career ,i suppose much like the fraudly harrison of today, made topclass money fighting bums(and getting ko often...and don`t go on about the 2 ali fights, cooper knew ali could`nt punch, and the 2nd fight should have nrver been allowed, cooper was`nt in the top 10 contenders, what a joke that was.
