How do you become a boxing judge?

Post by rvensel »

I live in ohio and have been a boxing fan most of my life, and I was wondering how do you become a boxing judge because I would be interested in trying to be one.

If you want to become an amateur judge, you will need to register as a member with the USA Boxing association in your area. Once your background check has cleared, you will receive your membership number. You will then take a 6-8 hour certification clinic before you can begin training. You will start as a timekeeper, then after you become experienced in timekeeping, will train as a judge. This can take a short or a long amount of time depending on how many local shows you attend and how fast you gain your experience.

If you want a contact in your area, please email me at [email protected]. I will need to know what city in Ohio you live in.
