I have a vague idea of how the ABA works. Are prizes awarded to Amateur boxers? Do you actually get anything for winning fights or tournaments? Other than a belt I mean. Also, how are fighters matched?

In most competitions, awards are given to the athletes. Trophies are usually given at local shows. Medals are usually given at national tournaments, however some do have belts.

At a local show, boxers are matched by age, weight and experience. In a tournament, a blind draw is conducted to match up the boxers in their respective weight classes.
