PETER JACKSON VS SAM LANGFORD... WHO WOULD WIN?...

Who would win this one if it was under modern rules, say over 25 rounds?.... would the rules make much of a difference?...

Some will disagree, but imo we know so little about Peter Jackson that this one is almost impossible to call. We know that Jackson was strong, versatile, and fought a prime Corbett to a draw that many thought Jackson should have won. Corbett avoided Jackson once he had won the title. Jackson may well have been the world's best heavyweight around 1895.

Langford is a legend, he was arguably the best heavyweight between, say, 1912-1916, he was rather small, a natural middleweight, but fast and slick with good punching power, and he looks fairly "modern" on tape. He was serially ducked by the heavyweight titleholders of his era, including Jack Johnson. He held the edge over other great coored fighters of his era such as McVea and Jeanette, and could beat a green Harry Wills.

So with this little information and correponsingly little comfort I'd give this fight to Langford.
