Anyone know whats happening with the comeback of Darren Corbett, he was supposed to fight on the originally scheduled Froch vs Magee card in Ireland back in March, obviously that card was scrapped... Just wondering why he hasn't fought since.
There was quite alot of attention made when Maloney signed him, why hasn't he been used?
Darren Corbett
I was with Gerry Storey, well known trainer and father of Sam Storey for a meal before the Kings Hall card of Magee Takaloo and when I asked him about Corbett, he smiled and said he did not know what Darren was planning to do and how serious his comeback was. So I guess the answer is its still up in the air.

Some of Corbett's classic post fight comments ;
After his stunning 3 round destruction of 'The Bad MamaJamma' Chris Okoh
" He hit like a women."
After beating European opponent Dirk Wallyn (might be mis-spelled) on points over ten rounds in November of the particular year, Corbitt with his small son sitting on his knee at ringside and daughter hovering nearby stated:
"Thing is if I didn't win tonight then theres no payday next time which means no Chritmas pressies for the kiddies. Thats just the way it works."
His actual fights where like some fat lad from the audience had jumped in and actually could fight. Great left hook.

He actually started at Heavyweight,had most of his successes at Cruiserweight and ended up as a Light Heavyweight for his last few contests. I think he is targeting Graham Earl in his comeback.lvlarc_uk wrote:This fella was good entertainment that's for sure. Could bang abit too! Seen some of his KO's recently on channel 4's 100 greatest KO's few months back. Class celebrations. Dread to think what shape he's in these days..
The secret to this amazing weight loss you ask?..............The renowned beer and fags diet!!!
