Frank Moran's record should be looked at

1910-12-05 181 George Kid Cotton 199 0-2-0
Princess Auditorium, Pittsburgh, PA, USA W DQ 1 6
Cotton took a drubbing before fouling Moran.

The above fight should be looked at more closely. I admit Ive never seen a "day after the fight" report but this fight was fairly famous in Pittsburgh for ten years after it took place and everytime it was mentioned in retrospect it always states that Moran lost the fight. I have several reports of the fight after the fact that state Cotton won the fight via KO in the first round. Apparently while he was down and referee Eddie Kennedy was counting over him Moran tried to claim a foul which Kennedy wouldnt allow. Moran jumped up immediately and attacked Kennedy. Kennedy, who was a former fighter, then proceded to beat the piss out of Moran. A riot ensued and it was several years before Moran was a welcome sight in Pittsburgh. I have an early record of Cotton's published by the Pittsburgh Press in around 1911 or 1912 and it lists the fight as a first round KO for Cotton as well.
