Honestly,a debate isn't necessary. Only one question BoxRec needs to answer...Is this site fact or fiction?
Right now it is inaccurate, failure to make the adjustments to remedy this in the face of the proof offered on this and the deleted thread will make it ficticious.

This is by far the most viewed and posted to thread in this forum and certainly the most ignored...Come on Boxrec, it says it right in your name REC= Record, right?
Record: An account, as of information or facts, set down especially in writing as a means of preserving knowledge.

See, it says FACTS! Live up to your title and promise!

Exactly what part of John's original post don't you understand? He's made his decision and it will not be changed. End of story.

Slandering BoxRec because you disagree with the decision is absurd.

Alarm dont think he is slandering it because he disagrees.

I think he is pizzed off because the record wrong (legally and morally) and if John has made a decision then he should be able to defend it rationally.

Anyway, I take back my BNP/NF comments made early - John has a hard job and is undertaking his duties to the best of his ability.

Exactly, the facts are not at anyones discretion. John or whomever at BoxRec.com should thank the posters in these threads for all the fact checking they do. This is obviously a commercial entity, they sell advertisements here. So, it is very likely that John is paid for his duties and therefore should have a vested financial interest in maintaining the integrity of the records. The posters here are not so lucky, we are merly trying to set the record straight, we were not given a valid reason for this error, John's reply actually stated the very reason this record should be altered. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but everyone is not entitled to their own facts!

BTW Alarmakool..please check out this definition.
Slander: Law. Oral communication of false statements injurious to a person's reputation.
A false and malicious statement or report about someone.

Nothing anyone said in these post is false save for the fallacious rationalization JohnShep used for inaccuracy.

I think what every viewer of this site (commercial entity) including Alarmakool should want is an accurate record. This simply means reflecting the truth. Why would u or anyone defend a falsehood like this and defame people for attempting to put a wrong right?

Please familiarize yourself with all of the informaton before u make a fianal decision on this issue. The Good Friday Agreement ( http://www.nio.gov.uk/the-agreement ) supersedes all prior law on NI citizenship. The Good Friday Agreement is an International Treaty and therefore International law. Are u saying u will ignore International law, the facts and the struggles of a whole people in a unique situation because it might be too much work?

DerryJournal.com Thu June 29 2006
Politicians cheer football passport move
The Irish Football Association's decision to permit footballers with Irish passports to line out for Northern Ireland has been warmly received by nationalist politicians in Derry.

The IFA yesterday announced that it is to reverse the rule that Northern Ireland international players must be British passport holders.
And following the decision the DUP have been criticised for attempting to "deny" Irish people their basic rights by opposing the move.
Sinn Féin MP, Martin McGuinness said he was glad the "obvious problem" had been sorted out following his representations to the Department of Foreign Affairs in Dublin.
"I asked that they intervene with FIFA to have the ridiculous ruling regarding British passports overturned in recognition of the unique constitutional position of the six counties.
"I am happy that it now appears that FIFA is to recognise the demands of the Good Friday Agreement. The GFA after all is an international treaty, in relation to citizenship in the six counties and the right of people to hold Irish passports and citizenship," he said.SDLP sports spokesperson, Derry assemblyman, Pat Ramsey, added: "Families and young people with a Irish background will be reassured by today's announcement that there will be no exclusion or non-participation because of one's Irishness.
"A number of young players who were called up recently for the under 21 squad were shocked, disappointed and angered by the condition that they must carry a British passport.
"The common sense approach by IFA to reverse this rule must be acknowledged and commended. This decision by IFA helps ensure that Northern Irish International soccer be allowed to progress without the discrimination. It is right to alter the stupidity of a regulation coming from

FIFA.
"It is also important that young people feel part and be a part of the shared future that we all aspire for."

Mr. Ramsey dismissed the comments of Ian Paisley Junior's who complained about the move to the south's Minister for Foreign Affairs, Dermot Ahern.
"Dermot Ahern should be congratulated for his decisive intervention in this case. The Good Friday Agreement guarantees everybody in the north the right to carry a British or Irish passport. Everyone who plays for Northern Ireland has that right just as the rest of us do.
"It is disgraceful that the DUP would try to deny people who are Irish their basic rights. The DUP demand respect for their own identity but have no respect at all for anybody else's," added the MLA.

As per your words "If we start allocating nationality by decent, ethnicity, politics or whim then that is all we would ever do on the site and we would never have any time to maintain the records. Already I have had an email saying that ethnic Serbs in the new country of Montenegro should keep their Serbian nationality and Montenegro isn't even in the system yet. So one nationality per country only, it's not a perfect system but it is good enough for a boxing records database."

Why is kostya Tszyu's nationality (see record below) down as Australian? Apparently your flawed policy cannot even been maintained. Given that, perhaps it would be prudent and expedient to alter the records when you are clearly shown to be in error.. It isn't within your rights to "ALLOCATED NATIONALITY" that is something pre-established by International law. So, dispense with the delusions of grandeur you are just a database manager, do your job and set this record to reflect reality!

I can respect the fact that you guys tried. That doesn't bother me one bit. But he has made his decision. You are within your right to disagree, but that's not going to change it. I've been reading it from the beginning (since it started). There really was no need for the other thread. That's the only reason I came onto this one.

In response to this suggestion NO!
Why not take your own advice and ignore me. I never called John Shep a rascist, I don't know that chap. I do know he is ignorant of the facts or choosing to ignore them and would be interested in his motives for doing so and if he did in fact say what has been suggested then he is indeed a rascist.
Whatever the motive, the record remains inaccurate and I will post forever on this topic until it is altered. In the graceful words of another Irish man
