Should this be NY based Feather Johnny Helstein ?

Ric entered it so it is probably from a contemporary source although this name is given on cyber. To make things difficult my 1981 Ring Record Book gives the opponent as Johnny Holstein (and the date as 7 Dec 1928).

I did? Well, then, yes, I must have used a day-after newspaper account. I do admit that I have learned over time that reporters cannot spell fighters' names accurately all the time.

If my entry to the great Kid Chocolate's record was indeed based upon a day-after, I no longer have that material. Because, some time ago, I donated this stuff to the CBZ Archives, care of Mike DeLisa. If that is what I actually did, then I hope Mike will look through the EVERETT DAILY HERALD prints I sent to him, to see if this bout is included.

Sometimes, however, when I am researching bouts at my local libraries, I do not always print out a page from the newspaper. I sometimes only jot down notes. Then, once I have entered the bout into the BoxRec database, I discard some (but not all) of my notes.

The point of all this? I don't remember my source. So there!
