Geniune world title fight in the UK.

Post by stujones »

Seems all but confirmed that Souleymane M'baye will fight Raul Balbi for the vacant WBA title, in Bolton in September. Its on the boxrec schedule and mentioned on fightnews.

I only hope ITV show this fight... considering the neglected the WBO title fight on the Weekend.

It could be a good one. At least these have been the longstanding #1 and #2 by the WBA and there has been nothing dodgy in the rankings. It could be quite competitive also.

Why is the WBA a Geniune title? Do you agree with 2 WBA belt holders in some divisions? Or that these assholes could get Tommy Hearns to fight for their title against Virgil Hill. Why is Souleymane M'baye even a sports Network fighter , he doesn’t sell tickets, his fight at the weekend wasn’t even televised anywhere. ITV didn’t even bother to at least record it with their ringside cameras. Will anyone in Bolton be interested in seeing French man vs. an Argentine? No.

Wouldn't mind seeing this fight too. Taking a liking to watching French fighters when I watch Mormeck Vs Bell.

Shame he won't sell here being French though.

M'baye was signed purely because he was Hatton's mandatory and allegedly Frank wanted to irritate Ricky as much as possible, as he also booked the MEN Arena forever. Sadly for Mr Brainwash, Hatton moved up a weight.

This was Hatton's title lets not forget, and he vacated it. So why isnt in a genuine title?

I think by genuine he means not WBU/IBO .Although the IBO has had some very good champions , Lewis and Wlad at heavy
Toney and Thompson at Cruiser
Jones jnr , Tarver , Johnson and Hopkins at Light-heavy
Reid and Lacy at Super middle
Raymond Joval is their best ever at Middleweight
Sergio Gabriel Martinez is the best at Light-middleweight
Floyd Mayweather at Welterweight
Stevie Johnson at Light-Welterweight
Isaac Hlatshwayo at Lightweight
Jimmi Bredahl and Cassius Baloyi at Super Feather
Derrick Gainer , Junior Jones , Barrera , Hammed , Brodie and Vuyani Bungu at Feather
Paulie Ayala at Super Bantam
Johnny Bredahl , Silence Mabuza and Rafael Maruqez at Bantam
Damaen Kelly at Super Fly
Kelly , Sikali and Darchinyan at Fly
and Myekeni at Light Fly

Despite that being a fairly impressive list the IBO are still a bit behind some of the other organisations although they do seem less corrupt and use computerized rankings which is something strongly in their favour , aswell as the IBF still ranking their fighters when they have the IBO belt .

Fighters move on/retire. This is what Hatton did... so what were the WBA expected to do retire the belt. This is a decent fight, between two decent fighters happening in the UK and its getting criticised. Raul Balbi has been long #2 ranked by the WBA and has held a WBA junior title (Feder something or other) for a while now. He is also a former Lightweight champ.

Whats wrong with this match? It was okay everyone the proposed Harris vs Hatton match was for a geniune belt and that was when Kostya Tszyu hadn't lost the belt. M'baye should be considered a better boxer than Harris, and he might not even win this match.
