Wilfredo Gomez vs. Ruben Olivares. What if?

Who would've won this battle of punchers? I can imagine an all out war. What are your opinions?

Great matchup. Both had one punch kayo power; both were very good boxers as well, although Gomez utilized his alot more than Oliveras. Oliveras seemed to take a punch better, but Gomez may have had a better defense.
I can easily see Gomez winning the first fight by late round tko over a reckless Oliveras.

However, in the rematch a much more diciplined Oliveras wins a tight decision.

The rubber match would most likely be a slugfest with Oliveras scoring a ko in the middle rounds.

Excellent match up -

As much as I like Oliveras....I think at 118 Gomez was darn near unbeatable - Gomez by mid / late TKO -

Below 122 I see this much the same but not before Olivares has gotten up off the canvas 2 or 3 times. Gomez knew how to finish an opponent when he had them in trouble too, swarming all over them looking for the big right to close it out. At 126 Olivares owns him.

None of the two were that great at 126 pounds. Gomez was a fantastic fighter at 122, but beyond that weight class, he did not had the power. Olivares was better at 126 than Gomez. Both of them at their respective wight classes were AWESOME.

If the fight is @ 118: Olivares wins by KO.
@ 122: I pick Gomez to win.
@ 126: I pick Olivares...Gomez was not that good at that weight.
