Om May 1, 1900, the San Francisco Call ran a direct dispatch from
New York on the Bob Fitzsimmons-Ed Dunkhorst fight. The weights
were given as 260 lbs for Dunkhorst and 170 lbs for Fitzsimmons.
The Call commented that "Fitzsimmons showed his marvelous hitting
powers have not forsaken him and he was as lively on his feet as
ever."
This is the description of the second round knockout:
"Fitzsimmons measured him coolly and then hooked his left flush to
the mark. Dunkhorst went to the floor with a thud. It was fully a
minute before his seconds could raise him to his feet."
