Cotto V Gatti

Post by steve689 »

I am usually way behind on these matters but i read in Boxing Monthly on the Cityboxer advert tentatively pencilled in for December 5th was Gatti V Cotto. Is this mere speculation or did i miss the discussion on this one?

How can anyone justify putting the human punchbag Gatti in with a hungry up and comer like Cotto defies belief to me. Gatti is finished plain and simple, whoever commissions this needs to be held up in the court of human rights it's sick.

Ok rant over...surely Gatti isn't going to wheeled out for a beating at the hands of Cotto :o

That was me.

It was scheduled on the assumption that Gatti would beat Baldomir. Cotto's still fighting in December in Atlantic City but against an unconfirmed opponent. (There were rumours of who it was likely to be but i forget).
It will be on the same card as Margarito v Joshua Clottey.

I did read that Gatti didn't want to go out with a bang and still thought that Hatton match could be made. This was quite soon after his loss so hopefully it was just hurt pride talking and he'll never lace them up again.

I doubt Mcgirt will let Gatti in with either Hatton or Cotto... if he fights again I hope its against a 'safe' opponent, though at this point there is really no such thing for Arturo and he should call it a day right now...
