Him and Chelsea deserve one another.
If I was a gooner(which I most certainly ain't thank god!)I would be delighted with the deal,as Gallas is superb.

Ashley Cole is firstly a celeb these days,secondly a footballer.But mostly,he is just a plain KNOB.

I'm a Chelsea fan , and Cole is a good player, but he should just get on with playing and stop moaning about the Arsenal.

Must say looking at this transfer i think Arsenal got the better deal in signing Gallas.

christ, these people live in a fornicating dreamworld. The money they are being paid is absolutely scandalous, and they aren't even committed to their clubs.

Football is becoming an absolute circus, when you look at what the previous generations of professional footballers played for and what they gave to their clubs, and what they achieved on the world stage in many cases, it makes you shudder at the overarching ingratitude and greed of the likes of Cole.

You do have to wonder exactly which world today's footballers are living in. I can actually understand where Cole is coming from when he says that 55 grand isn't enough, when lesser players are earning more*. My problem is that he publishes that as a sob-story. Who is going to relate to that? I'd love the chance to turn down 55 grand a week. Fvcking crybaby. And I'd love to know how Arsenal betrayed him. The bloke is a dick.

*Football wages are what they are. People will pay the money to watch them, so I won't argue with the money they earn.

Dunno about that, Cabbie's earn plenty mate, I don't know why people feel compelled to tip them. I mean, you don't tip the bus driver do you?

Especially since Kev Livingstone decided that he'd allow cabbies to charge double the amount after 8pm! Way to go Ken!

I often do tip, but if I don't want to, why in god's name should I?

Well that's a reasonable argument (I bet your hero is Mr Pink from Reservoir Dogs!)

But I guess if it's the done thing in a culture / country it's a snub not to follow.

But regardless, Cole has cash, and after several journeys should've tipped at some stage....

Usually when I am in a cab the poor fella is on a wild goose chase trying to stop at a shop that will serve booze at 4am so a tip is well in order!

The implication being of course that the extortionate rates that cabbies charge are not enough recompense for your time I suppose.

I've got a few family friends who are or were cabdrivers (god rest their souls in some cases), and they do very nicely indeed.

Why should someone pay extra because they are trying to get booze late at night? The longer the journey, the more it costs them in any case, so it's hardly a major inconvenience.

i was not a black cab driver at the time i cabbed ashley, just a lowly minicab driver, nevertheless i'm as well up as any black cabby on every route in london. during the journey i allowed cole and his mates to finish the bottles of lager they came out of his flat with during the ride to the west end. this was curtesy on my part and i got them to their destination in good time and very directly. at no point did i tell him i was a spurs fan!
it was merely for allowing him to drink in my car - and he did ask first - that i thought a tip was in order.
i will add that the conversation between the guys was laced with very low opinions of our womenfolk which i found distasteful but kept it to myself.
