JACKSON ASIKU

Post by Autobarn »

any news on this guy? He looked awesome in those two Commonwealth title fights and looks a lot happier than he used to when he was in Australia. I heard that old foe Nedal Hussein decided against a rematch, so who will challenge Asiku? All he needs is a win against a Nicky Cook level opponent and he should be racing to a world title shot.

I got some DVDs of his fights. He took on Hussein in only his 9th pro fight. Hussein had given Pac a hard fight for the IBF super bantamweight title, yet Jackson nearly knocked him out around the halfway point and lost a very tight contest. It was an outstanding battle and I'd recommend it to any collector.

I also have his war vs Gairy St Clair - up at super feather, which isn't Asiku's division. An 8 round points loss for Jackson - in the 3rd year of his career. I really feel Asiku should've got the verdict. But this was another superb battle & should be tracked down. St CLair is now the IBF 130-pound champ.

IMO Asiku's learned the old fashioned way & this has made him into one hell of a fighter. I hope the British super bantams and feathers have the balls to take him on. He's much closer to world class than ppl realize.

I can't see many people rushing to face him after his last 2 performances.

Hasn't a British promoter signed him?
