Damaen Kelly's rematch against European bantamweight champion Simone Maludrottu seems certain to take place in Italy.
The Italian's camp has won purse bids for the mandatory rematch later this year, dashing Kelly's hopes that the bout might be staged in Belfast.
Belfastman Kelly was controversially beaten by Maludrottu in a points decision in April.
Maludrottu's promoter now has two weeks to announce a date and venue for the autumn bout.
I was hoping Kelly would get home advantage for this rematch but it looks like he will have to do this the hard way which often seems to be the case for the highly skilled Kelly.
I was one of many who thought Kelly was robbed in the first fight so I wish him well in the rematch. Kelly is a complete professional and I am sure he will not let fighting in Italt faze him, but he isn't hetting any younger and it wouuld be good to see him get a few good paydays under his belt before he retires.
Well in this pair-up home advantage doesn't exactly count for much
Seriously, it would have been nice for the Kelly's fans to watch their man win for a second time - this time getting a title at the end of it. In another sense though, all the more sweeter for Kelly to capture the belt on Italian turf.

P.S. No more Swiss judges. Neutral my arse
when is the last time you saw a bigger rip off since the last Kelly fight?
