Kovit,
who of this boys you thinks was the best between the Italian famous heavyweights?

Erminio Spalla
Primo Carnera
Franco Cavicchi
Lorenzo Zanon
Francesco Damiani

I'm not good with hard decision about who was the greatest Italian heavyweight of all-time, but I pick Primo Carnera the best Italian heavyweight ever, because he was the only undisputed heavyweight champion from Italy.

I think he still attends a lot of Italian amateur shows and may even be involved in the amateur game at some level.

I am sure I read this somewhere about 18 months ago. :D

Kovit,
you are right. The boys I mentioned are because they were World or European Champions and were rated in the top ten of the world each one in his moment. I remember the once I see Francesco Damiani, he was quick arms, and good puncher, but I don't remember who was his rival. Of course, in a non hard opinion, the best was Primo Carnera; he beat Paulino Uzcúdun and Tommy Loughran, and it wasn't easy
